billet wheels are new tech, but journal bearings are not. K27 CHRAs are not new tech. the compressor housings they use are not new tech, the turbine housings are not new tech. Its a vast improvement over the stock k27, but it can be out performed by an efr counter part, and when i say out performed, i mean in every way.

Something that may have been lost on some people is that EFR literally stands for "Engineered For Racing." This is a clean-sheet design effort from BW as their entry into IndyCar racing. The 7163 was used on the twin turbo set ups, can't remember what size the single turbo cars used. These things are made to take abuse.

              Of course, time will tell.

That´s to argue about if you want :-) for me, "racing" means being overhauled after each race, that in no way is reliable as we use the word.

I definitely think, EFRs are the turbos with the best performance right now. But I do not expect them to be as reliable as the normal KKK ones, about reliability they still have to proof.

Holsets are cheaper and reliable- but I can´t believe them to perform as Garretts GTX or the EFR. Maybe in overall output- but not in throttle response and lag. If this is worth the price- everyones own decision.

Guys i get there into this thread....What about BorgWarner S300SX or Holset HX40Super on 2.5 stroker? GTX or EFR turbos are out of my pocket so if you would choose, what would be? I know a few people ran there HX40. The price is almost the same and BW i can buy from shop near my living (60km) Try to find a holset seller around

I know that is not better for strong mid range...but i think there is no chance to have strong mid range and higher outup than 500hp. Maybe u can with some GTX turbos or EFR but this is too expensive so i am satisfied with boost around 4k to 7k as most people with HX40S have. Everything is compromise between money and early spool.

Plenty of people have had good luck with China copies of the gtx3582r. You need the ball bearing one. Will make 600hp and have good spool for a turbo of that size. Similar to a proper gt35r.

I can't answer the reliability question. All I can say is that I have seen plenty of guys that make good power with them, and a few that went wrong. Maybe buy with credit card and PayPal for some extra comfort?

Maybe is good to give a try, but when i realized that i put in engine build 4 000 USD and than destroy it with chinese turbo I know, this things you never know. I am not that type of guy who dont like everything from china, i think that they can made there a good things. So its biggest problem to choose. I write you PM Des and thanks again
