Low oil pressure

As soon as Will's put it back together I'm sure it will be fine, I'd be very surprised if it lost pressure again! -
Have you tested the engine to verify that there is good oil pressure even when hot?Leave a comment:

Arghhh, so tempting, but I cannot justify having a 4th RS2 and at £35k it's pricey, not to mention I've run out of places to put cars.
I notice the bump strip from the near side rear door is missing too. Otherwise it looks a belter and I would really like to have it...Leave a comment:

Where? I see my engine is their cover photo but I can't find my blue RS2
Here its is again in their front office:

Sorry both my green ones are RHD
Maybe, but RHD feels more ergonomically natural, best hand on the steering wheel, joystick hand on the gearstick/handbrake...Leave a comment:

Keep the left hooker Charlie. It is the correct way round, the way nature intended
LHD RS Blau - the original and best

Is It in VRS now as there are pictures of a blue RS2 at VRS on Facebook now LHD?Leave a comment:

It is LHD and won't be going anywhere soon. My 'spare' green one will be up for sale in the future, but first I have plans to make it in better condition. Body is about as good as you'll get, theres just a few niggly problems like the front controls not winding up the rear nearside window and erm... maybe give the brakes a fresh lick of paint just so they look good, there's really not much wrong with the car at all. Oh, and the air-con needs fixing!
But if I were to swap I'd want a RHD car, in Volcano Black. The blue one I now have that we've been discussing is LHD and whilst there are many who don't mind, I much prefer having my primary/writing hand on the steering wheel and my left on the gearstick, it feels much more natural that way for me.Last edited by cardcrash; 19 March 2016, 11:20.Leave a comment:

I told you there would be a few jealous members...
I viewed the car with Charlie and taking it on was a gamble, the bodywork isn't quite as good as it appears in the photo's though it's in great condition underneath due to limited time spent on salted UK roads. Barney was good enough to let us put it on one of the ramps where he works so we could inspect the car properly.
Then there was oil pressure issue, oddly when we looked at there was no sign of head gasket failure, filler cap was clean, no condensation on the dip stick or steam from the exhaust. I guess it was in the process of failing and let go properly either when we heard it running or when it was getting moved to Will at VRS.
And it does look a bit silly driving around in car identical to your best mate.

It was still a bit of a gamble as to what was wrong with it. The washer from the bottom pulley was missing causing the belt to rub which could have had catastrophic consequences had it remained undiscovered and snapped
and the oil pressure issue was still a total unknown factor that thankfully turned out to be no more than a warped head and blown gasket!, But I was a bit worried about there being cracks all over the head.
The exhaust manifold was cracked but fortunately the one off Mental Wheels is in good nick so will use that as a replacement...Leave a comment:
