ODGT3582HTA tial vband or upgrade to twin scroll?

    Hi guys,

I'm about to (re)build my exhaust mani and before I start I wanted to ask if I should ditch the tial .82 hot side for a new twin scroll equivalent... However I can't find any info on how to make the collector area with a 07k 5cyl?! With equal cylinders it looks easy but having an odd number makes it a bit tricky. Does anyone know how it could be done or should I stick with plan A. I know the benefits are potentially small but I would rather do it now at the fabrication stage! Any help or advice would be welcome!

If you fitted the twin scroll you could fit a quick spool valve.

Again tricky to do with an uneven bank of cylinders. I guess the answer is no to twin scroll. Having done some more research on it they don't really benefit spool hugly when tested back to back to the tial vband hot sides.

Hi I was going to go down same route using a non branded housing from USA divided t4 housing but flange just t4 but I spoke to few people who said it's not worth the hassle so I got my self a one of billet collector made v-band tial and 60mm tial v-band wastegate the inside is better flow than your traditional runners

Thanks for the reply. Kinda thinking the same thing now. Out of interest where did you get the collector made and price?

Stuart (SE_30) is just in the process of having twin scroll EFR and Iroz manifold. Should not be long so just wait to see his results regarding spool (although he is looking at 700bhp+)

When a twin scroll housing with quick spool valve is installed the exhaust manifold shouldn't be decided into cylinders, it should be made in the same way as it would on your tial housing minus the v band so no extra complexity just faster spool.
