Turbo choice for 2.5 20vt petrol engine

Hi, what turbo and exhaust manifold would you choose for above hybrid engine? Should boost +1.5... +2.0bar starting from ~3000rpm

So many turbos in global market but can't decide. Could be something from Garrett.

What power do you hope to run?
Take a look at SE_30's 90 quattro. Soon to be running new EFR turbo with early spool!

Thanks. I will ask the owner about HP he wants and report back here.

I know he previously had noname turbo that had enourmous lag. Turbo couldn't even spool up properly.

Ok my stroker 2.6 20vt I have full boost of over 2 bar at 3 k rpm. I have 300 bhp at 3 k rpm and 400 bhp from 4 k rpm to 7.5 k rpm. 450 bhp peak and 520 ftlb. Efr 6758 .

EFR turbos are gaining steam these days.

On well prepared cars with proper setup the following can be expected on a Mustang or our dyno:



EFR6258-Full boost by 3100 rpm, 310whp on pump 91 and 400whp on e85 or race fuel

EFR6758-Full boost by 3500 rpm, 340whp on pump 91 and 450whp on e85 or race fuel

EFR7163-Full boost by 3850, 360whp on pump 91 and 495whp on e85 or race fuel

why build a 2.5 engine and then place a small turbo? for the torque or earlier spool?
I would rather put a gt3076r or higher to make some great horsepower

Buy cheap chinese replica gt3076r and trait. If you don't like put bigger or smaller.

If I had a 2.5 I'd use a gtx3576 on a 0.63 or 0.82 ar.

Yeah, GTX 3582R with .82ar. If you have more money to spend go with a Borgwarner.

Need to be careful with definations here. Spool up is when boost starts. What rpm does he get full boost. I have full boost at 3k rpm or over 2 bar and can make some boost at 1200 rpm...
