setting 7a cam timing accurately with vernier pulley

does anyone know the proper specs for timing 7a cams? I know its 6 or 7 degrees crank advance from TDC, but not sure where you are supposed to set the cam position... just as the valve opens? or at a specific amount of lift?

(The head has been skimmed a couple of times and the block has been decked too, so can't trust original timing marks )

It should be easy to set in stock markings if you have an adjustable pulley even how much the head is skimmed. Crank set to mark and cam markings face to face.

Scroll down this page and Audi_CQ has the correct 7a cam dat although I'm not sure what lift the duration is stated atat, could be 0.1mm.

            Values are for 1mm lift

for future reference, the consensus for 7a cams seems to be,

              0.7-0.8mm lift exhaust
              1.1-1.2mm lift inlet

              set at TDC

factory values or after special adjustment via adjustable cam gear?
