ABY/ADU crank locking tool...2084?

    ABY/ADU crank locking tool...2084?

    Hi all,

    I'm about to change a cambelt on an ADU RS2 engine but I'm a but
    confused on which crank locking is correct.

    Does a 2084 work with an ABY/ADU. Note, the car has aircon!

      I'm not 100% sure , I think it needs to be modified by adding extra ( 5mm ? ) height to where the slot is.

          Yeah, I think so - read THIS
          Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
          S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
          '03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

              Yes I tried my friends 2084 tool and it was short by about 5/10mm this was on a non aircon Aby engine

                  But would a 2084 work on an aircon ABY/ADU?

                  The long bar (from 2.4D and 2.5TDi 5 pot) seems to be a better option, but nowhere to buy it anymore it seems.

                      Just make one, mine took me all of 30 minutes with a welder, a piece of pipe, grinder and a hammer.... Admittedly that was on a 7A, but can't see why it would take so much longer on an ABY....

                          That I can't answer but there's no harm in trying oh if your handy with a welder like Bowie said make one up in 10 minutes
