It's looking like I need a new rad on my car. Any suggestions on makes ot should I go OE from Audi?
Or can I get mine refurbed?

Saw this Aluminum rad on ebay -http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=400724206578&alt=web

Can't help re if they're any good, also the link did work for me.

But was just curious what is making feel that your rad needs replacement.

When draining and attempting to flush mine over the weekend, I took out the blue drain plug on the bottom driver's side (rhs) of the radiator and it was very slow to drain and I sought to mains water pressurise it using the garden hose from the other side on the bottom of the radiator, but could not effect that much of an improvement in it's flow.

Could it be silted up ? I need to 'feel' it when it is hot.

    Any BTDT.

    Thanks.

Mine is visibly leaking from the right hand side (when facing the car). All the cooling hoses were replaced with silicon so it isnt them...
And as it's tuned i need a tip top cooling system :-)

My advice would be that if you have the original factory item, have it re-cored.

When I needed a new AC rad, VAG sent the wrong part to my friends garage 3 times, even though they had the vehicle details and even a photo of the original rad. Also, my garage said that the new VAG rads looked cheap and nothing like the quality of the original.

In the end, my garage gave up on VAG and sent my original to a really good radiator specialist who did a fabulous job for less than the cost of the nasty VAG items.

        Cheers n
