I ordered one from my local Andrew Page quoting correct part number.
It is the same as the one in the first link, fits perfect. £80 I think I paid.
They said they have been revised.

      After-run pump info link

There are a bunch of alternatives to the OE after-run pump, from B5 Audis and a few VWs.

Some of these PNs are covered in my After-run Pump info post:

      The Audi Enthusiast website. Forums for all Audis including A4, S4, A5, S5, A6, S6, allroad, A8, S8, TT, R8, Q5, Q7, 4000, 100, 200, v6, v8, vintage, local forums

My pump is leaking, and repair didn't help. So I've been looking into this.

The genuine ones have yellow passivate on the plated parts.
Error404 said that OEM have yellow passivate, but looking at Dave's write up Thappu bought a genuine item and it was the same as the one on ebay in post #1. And there are tons of OEM Bosch units that are just silver?

Yeh that kind of threw me of course a bit, i looked for ones with yellow passivate, however most if not all of them were plain silver. I bought one from on Omega with GM and Bosch stampings on it etc so certainly looks genuine, it's also silver in colour.

Link you posted for universal pump, if you look closer you can see Bosch stamping on it, and if it is universal, as Thappu said, they will be way cheaper than plug&play. So I might give that one a shot

Received my pump today. Bought it for £40, looks like a solid unit if you ask me. But of course, time will show.
