  • Motronic Map Sensor value

Is there an easy way to tell whether a chip set is designed for a 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor when you view the file in an Hex editor, for example a certain value at a certain address.

Obviously Dmitri knows. Paul N. too. Getting them to answer is another story.

With my RS2 based software, yes.
I have a specific constant that I put there to identify which it is, allowing my map editor to represent the pressures correctly upon opening.

Any other software - no, you will have to open the maps and look what makes sense.

I can't remember if these chips had any provenance or not (I think not). Might be best to scrap them and replace with ones that you know need a 3Bar Map for sure.
