Hi anyone know this can a turbo leak oil on the HOT side but not on the cold side because I think I have found the reason for the burnt oil smell comments would be much appreciated. Derek

    Yep!
The shaft is sealed at the turbine end with a piston ring type seal so either that or the groove it sits in on the shaft or the centre housing can wear allowing oil to seep past into the turbine housing.

Think there are 2 turbine seals, at least on RS2 and K26!

Depending on the route cause you may be able to upgrade to a stepped seal (where the ends overlap) to fix the issue without huge costs.
