I would like some advice on a track car, with regard to replacing the crank harmonic dampener, with a smaller aluminum pulley set and 60-2 wheel. (ABY engine fairly standard. Running 1 bar boost)
I was advised the the OE dampener only plays a significant role at steady RPM's such as hen cruising on the highway, which does not apply on the track.
Old dampener was a bit knackered and had a bad wobble which did not help with accurate signal off the 60-2 wheel. Would have caused more stress on the crank than good, IMO.
