    Disconnecting Lambda !

Pulling the Plug on Mr Lambda ??
I Currently have the Hunting Idle and High Consumption Syndrome, so I Guess it's the
Lambda Sensor thats playing up.(From searching the forum, Thanks)
Before Sourcing a new one I recall a quick fix that was done on my previous car, a Golf VR6.
The symptoms where quite the same except the idle was alright.
The mechanic Cleared the ECU Faults with his plug in Computer then Pulled the Plug on the lambda and left it disconnected.
    Worked Perfectly Therafter...
Any ideas if this would work on a S2. ??
Any consequences cause i cant think of any !!

The hunting idle, will be the idle stabilisation valve, probably needs a good cleaning with WD40.

Also i'd clean the MAF with IPA before changing the Lambda IMHO

You'll be annoyed if you parted with alot of money for something you didnt need.

Give them a whirl, if it doesn't work then look at Lambda

the lambda more often causes a rev hunting whilst driving at constant throttle and a hesitation on/off throttle, but it could also cause it at tick-over for the same reason: the car can't properly measure the mixture.

A decent motor factors may be able to help it's a common 3 wire sensor, used on many fords etc etc, i would suggest you also buy the right tool for undoing this as they are usually in very tight.
