3B Fuel basket 044 install query

    Hi guys,

Is this basket from my 91 3B suitable for an 044 installation?

I can't seem to get the inner part of the basket out, been pushing and pulling in all directions but not coming. Feel like i'm going to break it! Perhaps theres a trick to it?..

Is this basket even the correct one for an 044 installation or do i need another one?

    Cheers All

The 044 is a 60 mm diameter pump. The basket you show looks like a 43 mm one. You need a complete set of top and bottom baskets from a V8 with a 60 mm pump for the 044.

The inner most part of the basket measures 43mm diameter, the next diameter out measures 62mm. It looks like the inner part can be removed but may damage the outer part in doing so. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes tomorrow will see something different??

The basket fitted to 3B/7A/NG Coupés prior to early 1992 should be 60mm as well as those from various C3 100/200's

It's hard to tell what you have from the pic's but 60mm is the diameter required...no need to force fit anything...but some trimming is required. As Dave says yours looks like later smaller type.
