    MC2-injector questions! (pic)

If anyone is checking out my project you know I'm tearing down my engine for some light restoring.

I decided to buy new orings for the injectors since I knew I'd be pulling them out, and some of them was clearly done for with dry cracks and stuff. But here's the thing...
ETKA says they're normal round green ones, so ofc I bought those. But when pulling them out they look like this...? Black, really wide and with a octagon-shape?

Also, while we're at it. How do you get the housing out? Are they threaded on the MC since they seem to be of metal?
On my Coupé they where just plastic housing that you could pull but these are really in there...

Same as Audi KV 10v 'O' rings the green are as well as VW golf 1.8. Can't make out the 'black' ones in your pic? Maybe someone just used normal 'O' rings because they could not get the green one's?
Is your second question how do you get the injector out of the head? If so pull really hard or make a tool up to prize it out!
I sprayed mine with wd40 then used a claw hammer and hit that with a block of wood!

The pics is of one of the MC injectors, so the injector is out, but the housing or whatever it's called is still in the head.

The color of the oring is one thing, but what's up with the octagonal shape?

Oh right you need a 13mm allen key to unscrew it! (you do on the KV head) Just warped with heat and age?

Ah, so they are screwed in. Then I'll just leave them in there. It will probably do more harm than good to remove them...

Well, if they're not supposed to look like that then I guess this is the only option.
They just looked so 'shaped' I was sure they were designed like that.

Yeah just let the brass piece in the head if there is nothing wrong with it.

The o-rings you got look to be correct. I have always used the green ones from the dealer for my 10V engines. The o-ring fitted at the moment will look different in shape and colour due to age, heat, oil etc. will most likely be hard as well.
