    Cruise control bush

The throttle link arm on the cruise control has a bush part number 811 907 423.

    Mine has broken.

I purchased an Audi OEM replacement, the way mine was fitted looks like it was the wrong way round.

The one off my car had the countersunk side of the bush facing the ball connector. I think it should be the counter sunk part of the bush facing the tapered end of the linkage.

Can anybody confirm the right way to fit it?

        Yep same pictures I found.

My concern was that my car has never to my knowledge ever had this part removed or replace and the bush looked like it was OEM fitted, paint on thread etc.

From the pictures you have posted it certainly looks like it has been fitted wrong since Audi put it on.

        Looks like another problem solved.

Is there any setting up procedure?

Assuming your car is ABY or ADU the cruise control connecting rod is PN 893907415F which should look like these

The bush on my ABY rod was in my opinion been installed the other way round. Hence why it could have failed. (And it was old)

I will fit the new bush counter sink to match the head of the machine screw linkage rod.

I assume the adjustment is when the linkage is at rest with a slight bit of slack +/- 0.5mm.

i had same problem with mine ABY last week.
the adjustment don't have to be 100% accuracy, don't worry

Thanx Orsum - no problem - yeah managed to get it from Audi locally.
CC came in handy on my recent 4486 km road trip - JHB -> EL -> Plettenburg Bay -> CPT -> JHB

I must do a trip like that one of these days.

BTW I am looking for engine mountings and snub mounting.

                      SNUB MOUNT 811 199 339 B
                      ENGINE MOUNT RH 8A0 199 382 D
                      ENGINE MOUNT LH 8A0 199 382

Any idea if they are available in SA. Audi say NLA
