    Accusump valve options and connection point

    There are many different valve types to use with an accusump. Mechanical seem like hassle so I'm ruleing that out. But there are 2 different types of electric valve. One for road cars which allow the oil out fast but fill slow. The other uses a pressure switch to allow the oil in fast when the engine makes over x amount of pressure and allows the oil out fast when the pressure drops below y amount.

    So what are people using? Also the accusump diagram shows a check valve installed to make sure the oil flows into the engine in the correct direction and not backflow into the cooler or pump. Anyone using this? It seems many people have tapped the big bolt that holds the oil filter housing on and connecting the accusump there. I'm thinking of using a t on the oil return from the oil cooler along with a check valve. Your thoughts please? Cheers des

      Don't buy any of the old electric epc valve. Rubber diaphragm does not last. Just replaced mine with the new piston type;

        Ok thanks. This shows the connection going to the oil filter bolt I talked about. No check valve etc. Also it's just the normal electric valve so only for street use as per accusumps own explanation.

          Thanks for the info. So your using the 35 to 40 psi race style valve? Were are you connecting into the oil circuit?

            My reading of things on the net is that most race cars use a manual valve. So why not fit a simple electric valve that opens fully when the engine runs. This would allow fast fill and fast drain just like a manual valve and would be cheap compared to the epc valves. What am i missing?

                I have ordered a full bore electric valve which will preform like a mechanical ball valve as I think this is best for track work. Thinking of positioning the accusump vertically in front of the water radiator.
