    some help for timing

hi guys! reading this thread "Fun" with Flywheel TDC marks i learned about 3 rules for timing: cams sprocket, cranck pulley and flywheel. i've no problem with cams and cranck but the TDC mark on the flywheel is not on the inspection hole when the others are... the engine runs well before, maybe the car not too fast
I am wondering if the flywheel can be mounted in the wrong position
    thanks all

Nope. It only fits in one position due to the spacing of the FW bolt holes and the threaded holes in the end of the crankshaft.

flywheel can be mounted on only one position so other 2 positions are not timed right..

If all 3 don't match your simply not in correct timing.

Take the spark plug out and lower something long into the first cylinder. For it to be in correct position, piston must be at the very top. But bear in mind that crank makes 2 turns when cam makes 1, so align the marks and check. My flywheel mark aligned very nicely both at the gearbox bell housing and the front mark at the damper in addition to the cam mark. Plus I have to align the dizzy too.

I followed your advice and i checked TDC with some into first cylinder. cams and crank are ok, perfectly aligned. but the flywheel makes me think..
i've found only this cavity on the flywheel (no slash or 0):
                    foro isp.jpg

but still it is not accorded perfectly with the other signs:

                    puleggia crank.jpg

                    just few degree out

This is very unusual... Do you have the original flywheel?

Even IF you could mount the flywheel incorrectly, the engine wouldn't run - as the crank reference sensor would be minimum 45deg out of sync.
IME not all the flywheels have a timing mark and some are extremely faint.

When I did mine, I ignored lower crank pulley, and only used the inspection hole in the gearbox and cam gear. Even then I couldn't get it 100% correct, was out by half a tooth. Best is, long stick in cyl 1, and turn till it's TDC. Mine runs superb even if marks are not 100% aligned.

Same here. Half a tooth out.

are you sure about the drawing UrS4boy?
i think the i5 has a difference of 720/5=144° between one and the other
or I did not understand it
