    Oil cooler fitting on S2

Can anybody tell me ups and downs on fitting oil cooler up front lets say above IC. Oil cooler works only when thermostat opens right. So is it bad to use oil cooler higher than oil level in sump is if not using dry sump?

Hello i think thats no Problem...
I fit the Oilcooler upside down so that the srew Connection is bottom-up.
    Works fine over the years.

Actually i already have it installed up front just beside the right headlight. I just wanted to know if it's ok and not a bad ide when you dont have drysump. Setrab 9 or 11 row was it, from do88. Anyways or cold start-ups it doesnt mather because oil lines to cooler are bloked anyways more or less but i was worried when oil is at working temperature and how will it effect the pressure all together. Right now everything seams to be ok when mesured with external clock, only aux dials are making a fun of the pressure. When oil is hot then pressure stays at 4bars and doesnt move. Havent got time to try different set of dials - will see what happens then...

I have a 19 row Mocal in place of the aux radiator. Works perfectly.

Not sure about the original oil cooler sandwich plate. But as far as i have read, all the aftermarket ones still pass some flow through the cooler, when the thermostat is closed.

Got a 13 row oil cooler in place of the aux rad, been there for nearly four years and seems to do it's job.

I situated my 19-row cooler in front of the main rad where there's loads of room and good airflow. It looked like a bit of a squeeze to fit it where the old aux rad was situated and leaves a nice opening to allow cool air into the header area.

                  Good no know, thanks.

I have original sandwich and what cooler you use doesnt mather, all if them have freeflow — original or aftermarket. So when i do cold start oil flow in cooler is closed.

I managed to fit a large capacity cooler into the stock location. I had to adjust the duct mounting but all fitted in fine
