Any idea what power figures an AAN engine will produce without boost or with some minimal boost, like 0,2bar?
N/A AAN engine power?

Stock AAN was 230 DIN hp (around 227 SAE hp) with 2.1 Bar Boost
that is with 9.3:1 compression pistons.
7A with 10.3:1 pistons and normal aspiration was around 160 DIN (158 SAE) hp.
I've always said that with just mechanical WG spring boost on a stock AAN, you lose 60 hp or so, e.g. 230-60 = 170. Might be be too high considering the 9.3 compression ratio.

without boost i'd have thought you'd just consider it a 7a or maybe not even up to the same power if you mean setup as it should be just running zero boost it would have more restrictions and lower compression than a 7a so might not be as responsiveComment

Thanks for the info, good point that 7A comparison. All power below 174hp is good. This is a 80q b4 2.8 -> 2.2 20vt swap and need to get registration for the car with new specs. If going over orginal 2.8 power level it would be compared to an S2, and then there is a lot more work with suspension, hubs, brakes etc. If staying under the orginal power, then it's just a engine swap.
And it would be an setup with HX35 Super size turbo, so something between 400-500hp with track adjustments.

1. Only if the engine is "self made" = different turbo than stock. And only on euro2 and older cars. You can add max 20% more power than the most powerfull model type has, but then you have to compare the car to the powerfull model. In my case I wan't to compare to the 2.8 V6 so going over the power limit 174hp is not allowed.
2. If using a stock engine from another same type car, then it's a direct swap, but you have to change the drivetrain, suspension and brakes to match the more powerfull car. You can downgrade the engine without other changes of course.Last edited by Thuppu; 22 August 2016, 08:45.

Differences between Audi S2 and Audi 80 2.8 Q are not that significant in terms of suspension, hubs and brakes. In general, it's a matter of front shocks, some CV-joints and 5 lugs instead of 4 (hubs are the same in terms of beefiness). Brakes are the same, for instance.Comment

What is the front shock difference?
If I could compare this to a 'S2 sedan' then I could leagally register it with 276hp.

It seems now that our car/MOT instance database only know basic B4 models. S2 sedan is not known, so I can use the orginal car(2.8 V6 q) as reference. Only dyno graphs with max 208hp(174hp+20℅) and dB measuring is needed. No other modification is needed.

I´m not sure how different Finnish and Estonian law is for registering different engine. But in Estonia Audi 80 B4, and S2 sedan are totally different models. So basically 169 kw engine is not allowed on Audi 80 b4 chassis. And as far as I know, I haven´t heard of dyno sheet proving, because you are not allowed to modify the engine, so they accept only OEM horsepower. Well our MOT sucks anyway, basically everything is illegal. My whole car is damn illegal.
Edit: But I know there is ONE Audi 80, that is registered with 169 kW engine
