Running 2.0 tfsi coils without altering dwell?

Has anyone had any issues running 2.0 tfsi conversion coils with a big turbo (400 bhp) without altering the dwell time?

    Cheers, Dan.

No, but they wear out quicker, but you'll probably not notice as it be quite a while any if and when they do.

    Is my reply.

    YMMV

The stock ECU dwell time is about 4 milliseconds. According to prj (Dmitri) the TFSI coils only need 2.5 milliseconds. Normally that is not an issue. It becomes an issue if you track the car with all the attendant sustained high RPM running. This tends to overheat the TFSI coilpacks, hastening their failure.

I've run 1.8T or TFSI coil packs since 2005 on my RS2'd 93 S4 AAN with no dwell time changes and I've only lost 3 coils during that time. (BUT I don't track my car).
