    Billet v-belt pulley vibration damper

    Hi guys,

Anybody knows if there are any billet aluminum damper for a 3B?? Solid, without the rubber. And better like many modern cars, you don't need to remove the main crankshaft center bolt, only the auxiliar bolts to change the timing belt, in this case 4 allen bolts.

The stock one is a harmonic balancer and can't be replaced with a solid one like you describe. You could use a fluid damper if you wanted. Engine needs them for balance also.

Yes...if our engine has 4 or 6 pots...but has 5 and need it. I asked because I wanted to light some kg, but a fluid damper always it's a heavy part.

You can use them if you have your internals zero balanced. Big job unless you already have the motor apart.

I thought you had to use a damper regardless of whether you zero balanced your rotating assembly or not due to 2nd and 3rd vibrations of the crankshaft. This is a result of the five cylinders unique power stroke every 144 degrees. As each power stroke lasts 180 degrees there is overlap.

This is my understanding also. My strokers are zero balanced internally but the front pully is also required in that balancing process. Running without one will stress the crank and it might break.
