    New ecu 463A error (inmobiliser)

    Hi!

    How are you?

Im buy an ecu for my S4(i have an S2 and a UrS4)

When this arrives, Im try to run the car with this but the car only start one second

Im scan with vagcom and error 463A appears, its inmo error

Open the ecu and see eproms by 264 ps. Im really happy with this, because its a original upgrade repro(im thinks its MTM) its only 3 mounts before the ecu date

    Pics

Do you know any way to break it and using this same eproms?

Im like to use this and not change

    Thanks a lot

551C is an immobilizer ECU. You need to have the immobilizer disabled or install the immobilizer key reader, etc. Either way, a 551 C isn't the easiest ECU to have bought. 551A or 551AA would have been better.

Here is a list compiled by Dmitri ("prj") on the S2Forum (who has cracked most of the Motronic codes)

    "AAN Motronic ECU Part Numbers:
551A early UrS4 with pseudo dizzy and 8k boost chip
    551AA UrS4 non-immo, Europe and America
    551B UrS4 same as 551AA, but auto
551C UrS6 incorporates all software updates from RS2, different codebase, more diagnostics
551D UrS6 same as 551C but auto (see photos at the end of this post)
551E UrS6 has a small tweak to fuel on cold start
    551F UrS6 same as 551E but auto.

At 551C, when the immo got incorporated, the RS2 codebase was merged as well. Yes, all are still 230hp DIN, 227 hp SAE), but many routines are rewritten. For example the rev limiter routine is different, the software code area in the boost/knock control unit is 200 bytes longer and so on."

    Good luck

PS: Your chips are most likely real MTM Stage 1 (but not Stage 1+ which used the 300 kPA MAP sensor not the stock 250 kPa MAP)

      Thanks for your reply

Are you really sure that the inmobiliser is ON if i change the eproms for others?

Im thinks the inmobiliser is in a motor eprom and not in the ecu

Those MTM Stage 1 chips are good chips. No reason to change them for "others" unless you really want 10-15 more horsepower (or so) at the expense of new chips and a 3.0 Bar MAP sensor.

Prj or Paul N. will hopefully answer the immobilizer question. As far as I know the immobilizer is a system, i.e. key, key reader and connection from the key reader to an aspect of the ECU or the Central Lock Control module.

Here is some reading for you that *might* help you bypass the immobilizer (no guarantee):

But the again there is this:
