Help can i with an engine support bar???

Gearbox has been removed today from the 2.8 30v to make it easier to remove the engine and roll it on a dolly through the house out to the back garden and workshop,it's just easier that way.


The urgent part is i now want to drop the engine beneath the car and roll it out on a dolly from underneath for good reason. I can see the 2 engine mounts that bolt in through the C4 chassis legs. Question......Using an engine bar support can i just remove the bolts form each engine mounting and just drop the engine out underneath.To me it looks like it will go but i will need to modify the engine bar to allow me to drop the engine out further than the bar will allow. Any ingenious ideas guys??

Get a cheap engine hoist and sell it when you are done!

The ground just in front of the car has a 20" drop the reason why i want to drop the engine out underneath. Edit plus all the running gear is gone so no way to move car.

If you have a couple of different height objects to lower the engine on you can lower it onto a high object, wind the hooks back up, lengthen the straps or chains, then lower and repeat.

Or grab a mate, tie a scaffold bar across the top of the engine and walk it out with a person on either side of the car?
