    Split boost bad starting

Would a damaged boost hose from turbo cause poor starting?
    Vw t5 5 pot diesel
Had two garages try cure it
    Replaced stuff here n there
Didn't find the split in the boost hose
    I did
Replaced and starting fine now every time
    Garages saying not connected
Sorry non Audi but sort of related and better understanding from people on here of boost issues

if the boost hose was very broken you could say there was a vacuum loss so the maf sensor gives a incorrect input to the ecu but i doubt this was the reason.i think the engine would also starts with a broken maf.you can easily check this if you remove the turbo inlethose on the maf

It did start but took 20-30 seconds of cranking
I was think g along the lines of a sensor not getting correct pressure signal
      Started again today no problem
I didn't change or do anything else to it, only the boost hose
