Borg Warner EFR Vband flange issue.

My EFR 7163 with Indy car style flange turned out the flange
is way smaller than generic 2.25" Vband flange as you can
    see on the photo.

So my plan is going to machine the outer lip of the vband flange off
But not sure if the V band clamp is still useable on this.anyone BTDT?
I'm going to run this efr7163 on RS2 evo 'EM.i'm going to fabricate
The kkk flange and weld it with the short section pipe tube with V band
    Flange on another end.

Thanks mate.just another 2 quick questions.
1.Did you end up machining the outer lips off too?
2.Did the 2,25" Vband clamp tighten and sit properly after(if) machined off?

Sure you can machine off some material to get same diameter to the flanges. But you must do something to the gap between the flanges, seems that there is a inner lip on the turbo flange so you must machine a groove step to the mating flange. Easy to do with a lathe at the same time you machine off the radius.

I had a v band flange machined to fit the turbo. I then used a tial v band clamp that I cut a small amount of and welded. Works fine.

Ok just an update,i got the Vband flange today.machining the outer/inner lips off
to be matched the male groove on the turbo inlet. The 2.25" V band clamp is fully
locking on the V band ended nicely.the face is also seated properly.
