7A and ABY oil filter question.

Are they the same filter???.......other than the part no?!
    I was looking here..... http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+cou...115-115030/#22

    7A part no. is 056 115 561 G

    ABY part no's 06A 115 561 B and 034 115 561 A

Only reason I'm asking as I have 2 that I bought for my 7A engine CQ, and it'd save me going out to buy another for S2 ABY.

    Thanks in advance.

    John.

I looked into the two Mann filters before 719/5 and 719/30. The /5 listed for 10v motors and the /30 being for 20v applications. The only difference i could see in the datasheets was the the /30 had better filtering, but the bypass valve opened at the same pressure rating so they are interchangeable.

I cant find a link to the datasheets, just these product pages which don't list the micron filtering level.

So the 20v filter would be an upgrade for a KV/NG engine.

Yup. There is also a few diesel variants which are huge big cans, but i haven't looked into those. e.g. would be the C4 2.5 TDi

              Try this site John

              http://www.oilfilter-crossreference.com/

056 has valve towards the top when looking into filter, and 06A has the valve to the bottom. I had an 056 in the garage that I thought may fit that A3 but when I saw it was different, never took the chance [emoji1360]
