DV position

hi im slowly getting round to actually fitting the engine in the car now and was wondering the best position for the dump valve.

Near turbo
Near throttle body
or anywhere.

not bothered about what sounds best just whats better for engine / turbo

Standard hoses put the DV near the turbo of course as its the shortest distance from there to get a connection to turbo output and input... Funny that !

the car isnt std got to make all turbo hoses up myself, so i have a certain degree of freedom.

Yeah thats the one. Mine used to live there untill we got a house. Now its there just visiting the in laws!

didnt you have the head rebuilt at a major cost.

I had the whole engine done, it had a head gasket go when i brought it, so i had the head rebuilt properly. Then because of the dodgy chip in it, it put a rod through the side of the block! So that had to be done then..... Its had loads of new bits, and its not gave me any greif since i fitted the rs2 turbo about last summer (touch wood)
