    Boost=engine shuts down!

    Problemos... As soon as my turbo get on boost the engine almost shuts off - and it does so in a very brutal manner. It's running just fine on idle and up to around 2500-ish and then it dies until you let it idle again. This all just occured on my way to work.

    Congratulations...you have the legendary overboost cut off. If the car was behaving itself before today try these....1) Reset the ECU by removing the "motor" fuses for about 30 sec. 2) Unplug the MAF ( and if you have contact cleaner then THOROUGHLY clean the contacts ) and re connect. 3) Look for any loose blown hoses..... and test drive. Let us know how it goes. Good luck, James.

        Boost leak yes. MAF is measuring too much air. Impossible amounts that is.

          Well ok. I found something that looked strange just by looking under the hood. The line going from the IM to the boost control valve looked like it had been blown apart - the lining on it was blown and the line itself felt really wierd and wobbly. I'll try changing it. Motro fuses? Hmm. I'll try that on my way home (I guess they're found in the black fuse box under the hood).

          Maybe a Samco kit would be a good investment afterall...

            Update:

            Without doing anything at all besides leaving the car alone for a whole day it's running ok again. No cut offs of anykind. However, at some rpm's I have a slight hesitation. Also, I feel that I have quite a bit of lag. I do not know how or why it ran like crap and then fixed it self but I'm going to tear it apart and check all the hoses out and clean MAF. Possibly drain the IC as I'm pretty sure it's filled with oil.
