Do you know what turbo this is?

I picked up an S2 at the weekend. The seller didn't know much about the engine spec but thought it had an RS2 turbo on it.

I drove it 340 miles home and it felt like a standard non chipped S2. I fitted a boost gauge and couldn't get it to work so traced the vacuum pipe around the back of the engine bay and found a join which had come apart so repaired it and went out for another drive.

I've not driven an RS2 so not sure on the performance. The boost gauge now shows up to 1.4 bar. I am shocked how quick it is since the vacuum pipe repair.

The car came with 3 boxes of spares including a S2 turbo, new set of green injectors, spare ECU, manifold etc etc ...

You would need a clear pic of the tag on the turbo...

Might be worth checking the ECU too, to see firstly if there is evidence of it having been opened, if it has, then look if the chips are identifiable...

From your pic its hard to see.... Does it ssy K24 7200 ? Looks like it might...

Looks like a RS2 compressor housing to me which suggests the 7200. But of course the turbo could be a hybrid.

I have no idea why that KKK tag is so messed up but I see K24 and 7200 so RS2 turbo at least.

The seller was correct then.

Will the original S2 airbox and pipe work fit back in place? At the moment it has an aftermarket cone filter fitted to the maf.

Also I have just noticed the auxiliary water pump is leaking. Does anyone have one to sell or know where to buy one.

I will have a look at the ECU at the weekend.

1.4bar is normally around what a mapped K24 7k will run. Injectors might give you more of a clue about the setup. Yes S2 airbox and intake piping will fit with a 7200
Dare I say it if the car is running an unshielded cone filter the previous owner was fairly clueless so proceed with caution!

Has the car been painted RS Blue?

So remove an injector and check the part I presume.

The car is Kingfisher blue. I will post some photos of it at the weekend, someone may know it.

Nice one arron back in an s2 again! Pop over the bridge and compare to mine if you like as in all rs2'd+ but running 1.9 bar

It is Marks old car. The bodywork is immaculate. I'm really pleased with it. Just need to get to the bottom of what setup it's running.

The tag shows "7200".it's definitely rs2 turbo.if you didn't show those blue tag.i'd assume it could be either Rs2 or
mtm sms 303 (k26) turbo since both turbos has same compressor housing.
