I've just seen the pictures of WBRV mines not plumbed in like that. The pipe of the T-piece goes to the inlet(air box -turbo) the other two pipes are connect together with a short piece of pipe, i know all this as i have just replace all small pipe work down there for silicon piping? Is this wrong?

Faulty lambda probe? I had this problem and fuel economy improved 25%.
Just my 2 cents; hopefully you get the problem solved!!!

sensor air / fuel ratio in the inletmanifold maybe??
I had this one changed together with the lambda probe ; costed me aprox 300,- euro at the stealers..

          Good luck!

looking at the WBRV diagram, i don't get? What should the three pipes connect to? currently, Longone opposite the wiring plug connector goes into the inlet pipe. The other 2 are connected together.

can someone explain this to me please, ive asked before with no reply.

My fan (3rd speed?) kicks in when the temp reaches around 95, but if I turn off my engine while the fan is on, the fan turns off too. I know others cars keep the fan running even if u stop engine and lock car. mine dosnt. any clues?
All the same. The fan will come back on in circumstances when temperature rises again. Only noted on mine when unloading car after drive skiing at top of mountain.
My SAAB used to run fan after switching ignition off but the S2 and now RS2 do not.

Assuming you have used a boost gauge to get the reading you mention and the figure is not adjusted for atmos pressure I think it is chipped. Paul quotes 1.4 max boost for standard homefry
                    Check Paul's excellent reference http://www.s2central.net/main_frame.html

The other thought with that sort of fuel use is a boost leak

Have you checked for fault codes ?

Just noted you asked about this at the end of the year and had already done the obvious. Sorry if advice repeated

Can you give me more info on this? because I always thought this. Is almost impossible those quick changes in temp when I am in the Motorway. 20 Degrees in <1min.

                        Cheers
