    Crank identification help

Eurospec sells 92,8mm stroke 5 cyl crank. They state the reference part number is 034 105 101 J

I've asked local stealers parts dep to identify this for me. They came up with nothing. This is probably a US part for some engine. Marine? Dunno. The guy told me that they have no such access to US models parts that this one could be found.

So our US friends. Does your family album know this crank. Does anyone know where has 92,8mm crank been used?

    http://www.eurospecsport.com/crankshafts.html

$790 + shipping + taxes is maybe a bit much. So I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. This would probably be near or over 1000 euros total

the 95,5 cranck are in 2 versons, they have different P/N the one from the 2,4liter IL5 aurovan, diesel 78hk,and the other from 2,5 IL5 tdi 102hk....i will check this when i got the engine in my hand, very soon(about the 2,4 cranck) they will fit in the block, any audi IL5,but what the differents. if you have this rebuild and go for 46mm rodtapps(insted of 48mm) you may have 97mm stroke..... and the block can be bored to 83mm = big ccm :mischeif:

              Thanks for the infos.

I was thinking of a compromise. 92,8 in tall block -> long rods -> great rod/stroke factor -> lasts forever and should rev nicely.

I've checked on both the US and Euro Etka an neither list that number, so It's either an obsolete or invalid number

I have come accross an IL5 92.8mm crank. It was quite a few years ago, it was in a 1991 VW Caravelle. It had been imported from South Africa. I assumed it was a 2.3 IL5, but it needed a rebuild and upon stripping it down, it wasn't a 86.4mm crank as I thought, but 92.8.

The final model South African Caravelle / Microbus was available with 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6L IL5's, early models were Digifant, while later ones were Bosch Digifant.

Don't know if this is any good to you, but well worth a try.

...and can also be found in 2.5 gasoline engines (code AAF I think, 109Hp Transporter/Eurovan). Mine is built on this type, using both block and crank

Roger, is the petrol version also using M12 head bolts?

What are your solutions for the head bolts. Marco is using A2 tdi bolts but are you using studs and if yes, which?
