M12 yes, and uses ARP kit for BMW 3.5L(ARP nr. 201-4602). Head has to be drilled to get the larger studs to fit.Originally posted by porkkisRoger, is the petrol version also using M12 head bolts?
What are your solutions for the head bolts. Marco is using A2 tdi bolts but are you using studs and if yes, which?Last edited by Audi_CQ; 9 April 2005, 22:52.Comment

Geting back to the topic, I have recived this e-mail a while ago form Steve Cresswell @ www.candrenetrprises.co.uk
The 92.8 mm crank was used in the type 2 T4 models from 1991, the engines being the 2.4 litre diesel and the 2.5 litre petrol. The engine codes are AAF, ACU & AEN (petrol) and AAB (diesel). The VW part number is 074 105 019 E. To use this crank in a 2.2 KV/KU or 2.3 NG block (or even the JS or PS 2 litre), all you need to do is a little clearancing work around the middle dead centre point for number one con rod where it gets very close to the sump gasket area. You use the original 144-mm rods but you need 3A Audi pistons (82.5-mm or 83-mm if you need to re-bore an NG 2.3 due to bore wear). The crank can also be used in the 7A 20v (I am just about to build one) but you need 6A Audi/9A Corrado/Passat pistons and you need to modify the pistons for the oil jet.AKmotorsport.net - Manufacturing Motorsport parts that do the job. | Audi S2 on Facebook | Best way of reaching me is sending email to albert@akmotorsport.netComment
