newbie question..doubt about bearing caps. in same type of heads (3b, aan, aby) the bearings caps are interchangeable or every set has his head?

Actually the caps are always told to be each for its head. But in real life cases known, when using another's cap worked successfully. There is a chance, but it's sooner a ghetto solution at some point, and not for highperformance engines.
A worthy workaround when using not native cap is to machine the new 'not suiting' pair properly in machine shop.
