3B Coupe Fuel Pump

Mu pump is noisy, I get occasional rough idle and under hard braking have had the revs drop. Im thinking of changing the pump and in time the injectors as I want to refresh the injector seats and seals etc.
Is there any "how to's" for the fuel pump, peoples experiences etc? I have searched and not found anything of note. Regards Steven

Have a look at the Bosch 044 pump threads. I wrote a fitting guide a long while ago.

I think I found your guide Greg, sounds like an awful lot of faffing for me. I might look to get a direct replacement pump.

i got a walbro css 342 pump for sale it fits in the oe pump holder with no cutting. works fine

I assume it plumbs up the same? Is it a direct swap, and is it new? Regards

its not new and yes it plumps just down i just took it out off mine cuz i was upgrading

One good tip - Never run the pump without fuel - as this lubricates the pump and this can destroy pumps on vehicles that have lost all fuel out of the system - due to standing, for long periods of time.

It always been a tad whiney on occasion. I'll probably pull it from the tank and decide what course I will take. Most things become apparent when you've got them to bits etc.
