    Engine running lean?

Hi guys-so after 70miles since engine rebuild I removed plug out to check the colour of it hoping for some indication of how the engine is running (lean/reach) and I'm slightly concerned that it might be running lean.
    What's your opinion?IMG_9088.jpg

I know exactly how you feel Peter. I am in roughly the same position as you, lots of time and money spent and paranoid about lean running/detonation. I have now done just over 1000 miles and find the more miles you do the less you worry. I have my car booked in at Automark for mapping so that should take care of my lean running fears. I can then start worrying about the gearbox.

Get yourself an AFR sensor and gauge if your worried. I must say, I look at mine more than any other gauge on the car.

I have an AFR gauge and exhaust temp gauge which helps with the fear factor but doesn't eliminate it. I even made some det cans but sadly don't have the ability to decipher the different sounds.

Haha-I'm glad I'm not the only one then.
If you did booked with Mark I'm sure you will stop worrying completely .

Have you got link to the AFR?
What software do you run on your car buddy?

I have the older version of this:

A virtual dashboard on your favorite phone or tablet, built in webserver and wifi allowing your engine to speak directly to you through your web browser

Software is custom mapped by PRJ. I've changed inlet and exhaust since mapping, so used this to check all is OK.

These are good for the money http://www.efi-parts.co.uk/index.php?productID=173

                      Hi Jeff
Look forward to hearing the results after the Automark map. Are you keeping current chips as spares? Done anything else to the car? Will catch up with you again soon.
                      Cheers
                      Simon
