Cam position sensor

Help please does anyone know how many ohms the cam position sensor should be

Tested one recently using supply voltage of 12vdc and a 10k resistor.

Measure voltage on the signal return to ground, it will switch when you place bit of mild steel in between the air gap in the sensor.

Bit crude but it worked.

Would be better if you could use a scope and rotate an actual plate thought the gap.

That's a cold test.

Please note the sensor could still show good but be defective. If the part gets hot ie engine normal running hot heat soak can still cause it to fail when at running temperature.
