The coding plug is only used in some territories for various purposes. It can be used for maximum speed limiting on an RS2 for example and S4/S6's that were exported to North America.

Never tried messing with the code plug on a 3B or ABY - they are just empty on UK cars, so the ECU reads it as code=1. From memory a code=4 is the speed limiter plug.

The coding plug itself resides near the ECU in that footwell area.

F96 is located behind the trim panel at bottom of A-pillar on passenger side. Just above the moisture trap for the ECU vacuum/boost hose...

ok. then i know the plug is located about 30cm from the ecu connector.
and its a bridge (no electronic). Thanks Paul. you saved me some time..
