VW 16v turbo hey, I'm in the process of putting a 9a lump in my Scirocco trackday car. What are these 16v's like with a little forced induction?

sorry, to answer your questions, as far as the IM is concerned the standard manifold on the later aby is easily capable of supporting a dab more power. The EM is a different matter entirely, the S2 one be it the 3b or aby one is pretty restrictive, replacing it with an RS2 EM will improve matter here, good for 350-400bhp ive been told.

If your actually askin about the exhaust system there’s not really any aftermarket exhaust systems that are significantly better than the standard S2 due to the limited space available to fit a large bore setup, you could get away with a 3" custom system but decent custom systems aint cheap.
I think there are aftermarket 3" systems available for the avant though just not the coupe.

The RS2 EM has seen applications to 450bhp. What sort of performance are you looking for - a peaky powered high revving monster, or something with a wide strong torque capability ?

Milltek and others offer a 3" exhaust system for the Coupe. There are a couple of tricky bits where clearance is tight to the chassis & subframe. However if this is a track car, then I'd advise you go for a side exit system and make strong consideration for a separate WG pipe.

As for inlet manifolds - the gains there are small in comparison to the hassle and expense required. The standard ABY & RS2 IM can easily cope with 400bhp - we've seen that several times. You can use the AAN manifold with some intensive cut/shut mods that require specialised alloy welding. For big big bucks (like £1000) you can get a similar looking IM from MTM that fits the S2 application with a lot less hassle. Again all boils down to what sort of power and hassle you are looking for...

Hi Paul, do you have a part number for the Milltek 3" system or at least a place to purchase it from? I was going to fit the 2.75" Milltek system (composed of #MSUR15 and #MSUR16) as I thought this was the largest bore you could go on the coupe without going custom.

          Cheers

Its a track car, and yes the plan would be to build a high revving rip snorting stripped monster.

Wouldnt have to be practicle as have this for day to day:
