    Help and Advice

just had a new turbo put on my s2 3b (just standard turbo)
and had put on the rolling road to sort out a bit of rough running
(just got custom catless 2 1/2 inch S/S exhaust put on as well)

    guy at rolling road(john noble's chesterfield) say's i've got a faulty ECU
as he's checked all signals coming into the ecu but the signals going out
    are all over the place
the biggest thing is the ecu thinks the engine is running 1000rpm then what it is
so boost is all over the place.

john nobles is looking into a replacement ecu so god know's how much that's going be.

4 rings in donny want £200+vat for 3b ecu

any one got any idea's and a spare 3b ecu going cheap

Er mate that is ****ing cheap!!!!!

    3B ECU's are like rocking horse ****.

But before you buy one, i'd get your original ecu checked over by S2Central or Mihnea as they can repair S2 ecu's.

Agree thats a good price for spare 3B ECU - I paid £250 for my spare a while back. I have repaired a few duff 3B ECUs in the past. You might just have lousy software in there - or primary sensors maybe faulty (eg G4, G28, G40 or the MAF). Pull fault codes.

'Rough running' could just be a dicky HT lead or problems with fuel supply - why is the ECU being blamed for this problem ?
