    stuttering

Not a technical term, but not sure what it is.

I bought my s2 coupe aby approx. 9months ago. After a few months it did that stuttring/jolting thing when accelerating hard - ie when the turbo kicks in I think. I had the lambda probe replaced and this seemed to cure the problem. However, it did it on one occasion while driving in France approx 1 month after the lambda was replaced.

Since then I have had no problems with it - ie for last 6 months.

The last few weeks however, it has occurred a few times. Can anyone give me a definitive list of the possible causes?

    Thanks v. much.

i am having similar problems on mine, any way its just spent 6 hrs at audi having some wiring renewed where its degraded and i am replacing a couple of coil packs as the wiring there is broken and they have repaired a broken wire to the solenoid valve for charge pressure
all this has still not cured the misfire, hopefully the new coils will do that, but at least i have boost and turbo again.
i am also gonna give the isv a clean too.
    skint but fast

Have you pressure tested for boost leaks?
I'd check for boost leaks first, check s2central.net and pull fault codes.

        I'll second Jamo's suggestion.

I had the same problem of the car stuttering under hard accelarating. Turned out I was over boosting. A couple of new hoses later I was rolling again

          Thanks for that.

How do I check for boost leaks/source fault codes - presumably, I have to take it to my s2 specialist as I dont have the equipment to do this...

jamie, a common hose to split is the one that comes from the throttle body, easy to check for splits (which mine had done).

if you have a look at this picture, not my car but someone elses...if you follow the big blue pipe on the left up, at the end you will see a black consatina type hose about 10 cm long, thats the hose.

                hose

There was a group buy for the pressure testing kit a while back, costs about £30, all you need as an air line.

But because your in Laaaaaaaandaaaaaaaan i'm sure you could borrow one of one of the bods for the day?

                          Good suggestion.

If anyone in London has one and is willing to loan it (not sure how long it takes to test etc) that would be tops.

                          Cheers
