    Mihnea - I need a remap

Apologies for using open forum to contact Mihnea, but PM's appear not to work
Mihnea, I need an urgent remap on the S2, I need you to advance the timing below 4.5Krpm and keep the timing the same above it where it currently flies and appears fine. This is on the 7% leaner chip labelled 'fuel M03' where the AFR seem ok.
The car is literally dead below that engine speed, with total lag and it is definitely down to the timing in the chip. Cam timing etc all line up as they should.
Trust you are well and look forward to your early response.
    Cheers

            Email me.

Karl - those chips you have are very similar to my brothers car (apness old car). It is not laggy. It definitely sounds like a timing problem - Sal had this exact problem, it flew above 4500rpm and was flat below that. Have you got both cams on their O marks? The correct cam pulley? ANd the crank is on the marks as well?

Has your turbo ever produced boost below 4500?

Mihnea is not online in the US so please pm or email me.

Basic feature with ADU cams and timing is that it kicks hard at 4000-4500 and flies fresh to the limiter and with a tuning chip even better. With rs2 cam settings it is unfare to wait for true kicks below that.

RS2 cam timing and upgrading ABY to adu has been discussed a lot and there are lots of parts that need to be changed that you have the rs2 specs. Then is that good enough is another thing. Personally I like more the settings with 3B engine inlet cam, NM ex cam in original 3B timing marks and with other full spec direct ignition rs2 hardware including that small rs2 turbo. My subjective comment is based on 1/4 mile end speed 173,6km/h in my heavyweight Audi 200 20v. NM ex cam is far cheaper than the ADU ex cam and you can find used ones from scrapyards.

With bad cam timing you kill the spirit of the engine. RS2 was originally tuned with high end power in mind ? - kidding though with 315hp high power :-).... but anyhow. Do carefully the cam timing.

Collected factory 20v cam timing specs are in excel format:

More ABY cam timing info also here / read in S2 UrSprache:
habe meinen ABY jetzt weitestgehend auf ADU umgebaut. möchte den umbau natürlich so perfekt und standfest wie möglich gestalten und habe deshalb die Frage in welchen details sich der ADU RS Motor noch von meinem umgebauten ABY unterscheidet... Also habe jetz folgende Teile verbaut: RS2 LLK...

                  Thanks Tommy
My S2 has stock ABY cams, RS2 E/M, Green Bosch injectors, Bosch upgraded fuel pump, large FMIC, and a RS2 stage 3 (MD147) Turbo from turbo dynamics.
My cam timing appears spot on but I will be rechecking. My question was essentially to find out whether I could, through the ECU remap, advance the timing lower down to reduce the lag or whether I HAD to get NA (7A? cams).
Thanks for your threads, I'll have a look at them now
                  Cheers

Also is it worth having the RS2 intake cam with 7A exhaust?

Thought the RS2 intake was the same as the ABY?, they have the same part number on s2central.net

I think they are slightly different, ADU has slightly different timing AFAIK

The cam itself can be the same as it is. The timing difference is done with the exhaust cam. Cam chain sprocket on the ex cam in a slightly different position and that's all.

so is the RS2 intake cam identical to the ABY then?
