No Boost& Missfires 0513

Hi Guys
My RS2Avant Gives code 0513 G28speed sensor - No Signal
Replace G28 Speed Sensor
Checked for continuaty between the G28 Sensor and ECU
Replace Spark Plugs
Replcaed ECU

Still comes up with 0513

The Avant will run smoothly and boost to 1.1 even 1.2 on half throttle but asa you press harder it starts to miss fire and boost drops off.
At WOT its a total disaster, It missfires and splutters with a max of 0.9 bar boost

Any Idea will be greatly appreciated

It could be coilpacks,
My car would go nicely at half throttle but not under full boost and full throttle

Maybe a long shot but could be junk in the starter ring or missing tooth or something?

How did the fault occur? While driving or after a start?

Was the engine running when you checked the codes? It will throw that code if you are checking with the engine off.
Clear the codes then try again with engine running.

I have had those symptoms before and it was a boost leak.

Robo, I will look up a test procedure for the coil packs
Porkkis, I'm going to try and look and see if there is any junk on the ring gear without opening up to much
Martinjs, I have checked for bost leaks, it dosnt seem to hold boost presuure like my S2, but there is no visible or audible leaks. I have recently installed Samcos.

Well, it was the coil packs.
Not sure which one or ones yet, just tried a complete set off another car, and my Avant is going like an RS again

BTW, these things are hugely expensive, and no comments from the 3B Gallery.

The G28 fault code is a normal one when you check codes by the factory procedure, i.e. check codes with engine off. I see it on every S2 where I check codes with engine off, yet I have never told anyone to replace his G28 or to get continuity checked...

Mihnea, Thats because you are one of the few "in the know" as they say.
One of the symptoms listed in the manual was misfiring if the G28 is faulty, thats why I thought it could be something to do with the Sensor.

But Im just glad I found the fault in the end and now I need to know where to find a coil pack at a good price.
