    Looking for right cables on the firewall

    I've just done a rebuild of my ABY engine. Now I need to see what cable goes where. Since my brain doesn't seem to want to remember where the cables where, I'm a bit puzzled. Does anyone know what the two Bosch sensors are at the firewall? I can't seem to find any cables that fits these two sensors? Where is the MAP-sensor located on these cars?

    The problem is that I had a friend of mine helping with this. And unfortunately he was responsible for the unhooking of the cables. And even more unfortunately is that he now is on vacation with his cell turned off

    What I'd like is some information about what these 2 sensors or whatever they are, are.

    And does anyone have a wiring diagram for the connectors, what connector is, for example used on the transmission? A complete schematic, or very describing pictures will be worth gold for me :

    Hoping for replies.

    The 2 'sensors' are ignition amplifiers. On one side of each they are plugged into the main loom of the car. The other sides are connected to the coilpacks on top of the engine.

      Ok that sounds good. Because my coil-packs are at my firends house, he's insulating the cables. Do you know which one goes where?

        There will be three sets of connectors on the coilpacks cover. Two white connectors (one with one pin missing) connect to the white connectors nearby (with all pins). Brown 4 pin connector, and brown 3 pin connector connects to the one end stage (that "sensor"), black 4 pin connector and black 3 pin connector connects to the another ignition end stage (another "sensor"). That's it .

        And carefully connect ground connection. It is very important. It comes to the "corner" of engine.

        Hope I made myself clear .

          Picture

          Here is picture (end stages look a bit different than yours, but this is "early design", just to make engine run).

            Great!! This is exactly the help I need.

            If you count from the left, where the knocksensors connectors go, and the trigger connectors (not sure if it's called trigger) you have a place on the firewall where you put all the connectors

            From left it starts with:

            white , white , green , blue , grey and black

            One of the whites was supposed to connect to the coil-cover. But this last white one at the firewall. Where does that lead to?

            Best regards Markus

              Two of the whites connect to the ignition coils (not the coilover).

              Engine temperature sensor. You will find oily and dirty connector which was white. Dirty white connector from the loom needs to be connected to it.

              Connectors with thick black shiny wire (which is different from other wires), which you said are comming from nock sensors, are connected to wiring loom nearby connectors like this (wiring loom at the right):
              black<->black
              blue<->blue
              white<->cyan (grey? it was vey dark to look)
              green<->brown

                Now I'm up to speed. But still uncertain about the two white ones. One white from the coils have 2 pins just like you said. But HOW do I know where to put the one with 2 pins, and where to put the one with 3 pins. How can I look this up? I've really really searched..

                These 2 white ones are supposed to go to the other white ones at the firewall? Right?

                  Hmm I thinkt the white ones are the main feeds to the coils. The car side connectors might both have 3 feeds so it should not matter which ones you connect. Not 100% on this but quite certain. You can take the rubber thingy off from the car side connectors and check this.

                    Ok. I hope you're right about this. In this case it means whatever I did , I was right , I like those odds. But I want to be 100% certain. This build went 200% over my budget so I'm kind of maxed out, no cash what so ever. Have to drive at least 1000km before saturday. Then it's race time

                      Then use wiring diagrams and your head . Everything is logical there.

                        Heheh.. Well logical it is then. I'm just afraid if I'll damage anything. I don't believe the new bearings will like it if I misplaced the coil plugs.

                          If endstage connectors are brown and black, you cannot misplace coils if you use same color ends on the each coil. White connectors are +12v supply. All the wires behind rubber should have the same color. If end stage connectors are all black, then you need to strip rubber boot a bit, and watch how many wires are there. Simple! .
