Is there actually any difference between the Original one and the Bosch one? Or is it just the VAG premium?

I personally dont think its cam timing. As that would tend to give different fault codes IME.

Just finished cleaning the MAF no major difference, seems a tiny bit more responsive off boost but not on. Think i will wait for the pressure test results before replacing the lambda even though they are 53 notes from the local euro car parts, it bring me 10% closer to a remap

Check this thread out re RS2 cam timing, it may be relevant to your car if it has recently had its cam belt changed:

Got back from the garage today. They seem to think that the performance is OK, compared to others they have driven (Think i have just been spoiled by drives in other that were modded, not that i knew it at the time). Might have to have a word with Minhea...

A few things in the car that need attention:
            - The front left top mount needs doing, does anyone know if Tim's metal ones are suitable for an RS2?
            - Front Right CV Boot, does anyone know if this is a caliper off job and what special tools are required?

They also identified that some off the body work needs attention. There are colour coded strips on the outside bottom of the doors which need replacing, Audi want £90 for rears and £110 for fronts, does anyone know of a cheaper source? before my hard earned cash goes to the main stealers.

              Hi Rich

              1) Top mount is suitable for S2 and RS2
              2) CV Boot, see this guide on how to change http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articl...ot_replace.htm
              3) Visit www.vagparts.com and phone them, they give great service and competitive prices.

You can use S2 Avant lower body mouldings as they're a lot cheaper. They're not quite as 'chunky' as the proper RS2 ones but you don't really notice. This is what I did on mine. IIRC they worked out about £120 for all 4 door & front/rear wing mouldings from VAGParts. Then you just have to get them painted like you would with the RS2 ones as they only come primed anyway.
                Now RS2'less

pete, are you sure they are not exactly the same except for the fact they come primed?

The RS2 ones are def a few mm thicker. I compared them when I took the old ones off.

Thanks Pete great info. I will get on the phone at lunch time and put parts and prices up here when i get them.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to bodywork. To get them painted, will i have to get the paint from Audi and then get them sprayed somewhere else(opposed to the main stealer) or will a sprayer be able to provide the paint?

Any sprayshop will be able to paint them. They'll just need the paint code which you can find on a sticker in the spare wheel well.
