    Apex'i boost controller

any of you have any comments about this Apex'i boost controller? Changed the turbo etc. and the local tuner mr. karala abandoned the original boost control and did the boost control so that there is a stiffer spring in the wastegate and the pressure goes straight from turbo's pressure side to the wastegate. Thinked that it would be a bit better to use some kind of boost controller like the Apex'i one? know one S2 witch has this here in finland and the man who own's the car said that it's pretty awesome unit. He uses it so that in first and second gear he has 2.7 bar and lower boost in third and fourth etc. If somewone has installed this unit please tell me how hard/easy it is to install.

Nasty, my advice, ditch it and get the car remapped correctly as uping the boost without changing the fuel map is badda boom time

    2.7 bar!!!!!!

Motronic is MAF controlled, so it does not know what boost is used.

Chancing to a boost controller has one draw back, orginal knoc sensing is not
able to reduce boost, but reduce advance and add fuel it can.

nope. it was 2.7 bar boost and he said that the second gear accel. is so short that the engine can handle it. acceleration from 0-200km/h is 11 seconds in his car so there must be pretty much boost also. recommended me that the original boost control would be good to my setup but aslo recommended the apex'i system. Also said that only drawback is that it won't be able to lower the boost in case of knocking but in other hand it's so rare that motronic has to go the boost lowering mode when the remap is done well that it won't matter

had this boost controller on my turbo miata, (and planning on putting it in my s2 eventually), and it's awsome!..

some great things about it is that you can have 3 boost levels. Off- wg base boost. A: pre-set boost 1. B: pre-set boost 2
SO when maping the car you could map it on B mode, and then have lower boost on A mode, and lowest boost on Off.mode.. this way, when someone else is driving the car, VOT test and so on, the car can operate on low boost and, you can have full power availible when you absolutely need it, and then not as much boost on everyday driving, making it easier on the engine
You can also controll boost on each gear indevidually, AND at different RPM!! (car must have digital speedo to use the gear mode)
you can also do recordings og everything, also peak levels

            nice gadget
