    Coupe rear window gasket

My coupe rear window/tailgate is leaking quite a lot along the roof line, dripping down on to the back seat, so it's clear the rubber gasket needs replacing. Is the gasket glued on to the bodywork, or does it just pull off? I have a replacement, just wondering what the best approach to remove the old one is?
Does the replacment one need glueing in place? What would people suggest?

Looking for the BTDT here basically!
    Cheers

Thankfully no. I'm sure I have details of the service procedure at home. I'll try dig it out this evening for you.

Dan, I had a look for you. The info I have for the tailgate seal is for the one surrounding the tailgate glass. You'll be wanting to replace the seal between the body shell and tailgate right?

EDIT: Just re-read the thread title - couldn't be clearer could it?
That's exactly the info you are looking for. The problem is you need to remove the glass completely before you replace the seal. You'll also need adhesive D 001 300 for the job.

If you still want to tackle this, just holler.

I'm talking about the seal that sits on the main body aperture, not the one in the tailgate...

It's leaking like a broken dam now, water running in to the back of the car at an alarming rate!

I assumed you meant the body-tailgate seal, but noticed your thread title includes "window gasket".
Anyway, I can't seem to find the info you need at the moment. Fear not, I'll continue my search.

Just a thought Dan, does your rear washer still work? I've experienced the pipe coming loose from the nozzle causing it to soak the rear bench. That would make for a nice easy fix, just requires the trim inside the tailgate to be unclipper to gain access to reconnect the pipe.

No, I've not got to fixing that yet - I think it might be the switch, that's my first port of call as I can't turn the windscreen wiper on (or off) reliably...
