    Leaking Boot - Coupe

I have a leak in the rear of the coupe. It's on the passenger side and makes the spare wheel well a bit damp. Any advise on where to look or what to replace. When the weather stops being quite so arctic I'll pull it all to bits but some advise or BTDTs would be grand.

Hi Andy, I had the same problem, water into the boot area. I stripped as much out kit from the boot area as possible, seals, plastic facia and dirt from the area around the back of the light cluster, cleaned where the water drops down on the sides of the hatch steel panels and used silcon sealer, its worked. There are holes which allow the water to escape from the side of the hatch back boot, if their working you will see water escaping and making its way down the back of the car. Hope this helps, BAzz

I had this problem too. After investigations with a garden hose, I found that the main boot seal was the problem. I raised it a few millimeters down the length of the left side. All dry now.

it's more than likely to be the light seals which have perished with age. Remove the lights and reseal with new body strip caulking.

I used Terostat VII from a local motor factors
