    Leaky car

With the rain always comes new problems!

I have just been out to the car and caught a drip in the corner of my eye. It is coming from the rear passenger lightand dripping onto the rear seats.

I'm having a guess at sunroof drainage.

    Please help?

How do I solve this one??????

I'm guessing the answer to this one is ride it through the winter - buying a car cover of course - just one of those top cover thingies that I can put on to stop anymore rain getting in.

Then, then, then next year when the car is off the road for engine rebuild - strip everytning down to the smallest spot steam clean everything and fire the stuff down all and I mean all drainage channels just to give them a clean mind. Then get the bu""£$ resprayed as planed, put it all back together and cry when it happens next year all over again

Right it gets worse along with my temper I think. Driving home from work and it's tipping it down. All windows shut and what happens but I get a few drips landing on my arm from the top of the window. Checked the glass touching seal (whilst driving in the dark mind you) and could not feel any liquid. But then I ran my hand on the trim side of the seal and water was pooling on the intern of the seal!!!!

How in the name of god did it get there. And where the $£"% from???????

Decided. Going to buy a car cover when Halfords opens!!!!!!!

Aah, the leaking door seal, that's another fun one. It's to do with the electric window not abutting correctly against the car - this happens when the cables in the mechanism start to lose a bit of their tension and the alignment goes out. You might also find that sometimes the window goes up ever so slighty too high and you have trouble closing the door properly without a good slam.

Welcome to the world of frameless doors!

Car covers aren't that great i discovered
They can scratch your paint when pulling off if you don't clean them after they touch the ground take all the dust and sand in it

And of course there little bugs ! Spidy's etc. love the're new home underneath your car cover and ******** your whole nice polished car.

I suggest a party tent or carport

Mine has leaks above the taillights

Well all these leaks and bit ARE going to be sorted when I get the car off the road for a engine rebuild and respray next year. The laquer on the paint is crazy paved anyway so a few scratches won't really make that much of a difference. + car cover is a quick fix. Not good but a quick fix that has just been bought and fitted. Oh well. Cheers

Dan gottcha. But it is not coming from between the window and seal that is bone dry. It is coming from behind the trim where the seal meets the trim if you get me. I will post a pic if you want but it is doing my nut in.

@Azman - yes it comes in on the inside of the trim around the inside of the door aperture, I had that too! These cars leak like a sieve

i've had both of these probs on mine...the leak over the rear passenger light is due to the rubber dish for the aerial base perishing and then the nut which keeps everything tight can then work a bit loose. Tightening the nut will probably seal it again but you will need to get a new dish to properly solve it.

for the door seal, check that the t-section of rubber which goes into the metal flange behind the seal is all tucked in properly as water can get in behind that and also then stops the front of the seal sitting fluch on the window glass too. Probbaly also find that the front window glass has been changed the the fitter hasn't bothered to rivet all the original locations so as a result its not a 'tight' as it should be and water can get in behind the a-pillar trim and also along the roofline of the door too.
