    Washer Jets

I couldnt decide if it should be this forum or electrical so I have gone for this one.

Im having some trouble unblocking the drivers side washer jet and found out that I do have heated washer jets fitted after all. At least I think I do since they have two wires coming off of them. One Blue one Brown.

Can anyone tell me what fuse they are on? and also do they operate with the heated mirrors and rear window?

    thanks
    Greg

yes they should work with the heated mirrors and rear window, not sure which fuse, best way is to check with a test lamp to see if its getting power to it

If they are like the ones on the S6 then they always have a feed, it is not dependant on the heated window, it's a bit like if you have heated door locks.

They are on all the time in the coupe. More than likely they have stopped working through old age. The passenger side is heated too.
You can actually feel they are warm to the touch when working correctly.
The fuse is in position "15" and is a 25 amp.
            Fuse controls all of below;

Radiator fan switch, turn signals flasher unit, cooling fan delay, air condition high pressure, heated washing nozzle, wiper system
They're a class one b1tch to get out without thinking you are going to damage the top side of your bonnet. See HERE and HERE for a "how to" on removing them.

Part number for new ones is "8D0 955 988". They are the same part number for both sides. Posted this not so long ago here.

You've probably already tried it, but try taking the feed pipe off the back, back flushing the jet itself and also running pump with the feed pipe off as it could be crap in the pipes themselves that re-block them.

I ended up replacing both of mine as a) they were not working and b) the wires had correded.
Obviously they are only on all the time when the ignition is on!!!
Just swap them for new ones.
The thing that amazed me was that after I had fitted the new ones they were already pre set to squirt in the correct place.

Just been out and double checked it, the jets are getting 12V but I think they must be burnt out since they dont seem to be getting warm.

hopw easy is this to retrofit? Nothing i hate more than frozen washers. Is this a plug and play with the correct washers and the wiring???

Also any idea on the cost of parts?

                      Cheers

Hmm, my washer jets have packed in at the moment too - the pump is running though, any tips for how to unblock? Didn't realise that heated jets were an option, that would be handy: a few years ago mine froze over, except only partially, so when the pressure built up enough it blew out and blew the black nozzle pack out with it, whoops!

Heated windscreen washer nozzles would be good too, I hate it when they freeze over.

Dan i think (read hope) that tthese are the heated washer jets for the screen...

If your headlamp washer is not sparying, check to be 100% sure its not the screen washer pump you can hear when you pull the stalk.....my pump for the lights was dead but was only when I disconnected the other one for the window that i realised it was that one i could hear working......as they spray together when the lights are on
