would we need the back plates since they will probably need adapting anyway?

Ben can you get some of these in the name of brake cooling and see if it is possible

Oops, I was checking the prices and reading this thread at the same time and accidentally hit Shift-F10, followed by Shift-F1, then accidentally typed an order number and then pressed enter.

Oh well. The back plates are on back order but the ducts will be with me Friday.

As to a brake duct that will fit into the S2 bumper, anyone have access to a set of BROKEN S2 fogs? They would make a good starting point for a fiberglass mold.....

Hey, that's not a bad idea at all.

As long as you dont want to mount the mini fogs, you could maybe use the actual fog light back, with the lense removed, and simply expand the bulb bolder area to accept a 2" hose

There has to be a hitch with this plan...it sounds too simple Anyone front ended their S2 recently :mischeif:

I could draw some up on solidworks if anyone is interested and if anyone knows a plastic / injection moulding company I could see about getting some proper ones made for the S2?

Someone needs to send me an old foglight and I can model up a duct to fit exactly the same area. Then all we need to is make 'em!

By the way, there is no personal intrest in this for my car. Can you seem me modifying the front bumper? I just like a challenge

Brake cooling ducts from the VW Phaeton, might be worth a try adapting them for the S2 with a different plate to fit onto the suspension

I gave these a try today, might work with a bit of adaption, the problem at the moment is that they will foul the ABS sensor in one position and possibly the lower ball joint in a slightly different position. When I have time I will have another go and see how i get on.

With my 330mm discs it doesnt give that much air to the middle of the disk, will see how I get on next time

you do know that making functioning tooling for injection moulding is a very expensive business...... £1-£2K for a very simple & small object...... and then there is setting up, proving and purging...... Not wanting to put a downer on your plans, but I can't see it happening for the batch size you'd be talking about.

GRP or carbon - now that'd be a different matter. CNC a mould?
